If you like wild animals and unspoilt nature you'll certainly enjoy this ten-day safari tour which will take you game driving for gorillas and other primates through the most famous national parks in Uganda.
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by a representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate arrival formalities. Then, you will be transferred to your hotel and be briefed about your safari. Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money changed this day. Overnight at your lodge.
You'll depart from Kampala early morning and head south-west. You'll have a stop over at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. The drive will take you through savannah grasslands where you'll admire banana plantations and herds of ankole cattle with their long curving horns. Then you will ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the "Switzerland of Africa", with terraced farming and mountain scenery to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Overnight at your lodge.
After an early morning breakfast you'll head towards the starting point to embark on your gorilla tracking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, an unforgettable experience. Don't forget to carry your rain gears, jungle boots, packed lunch and plenty of water. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend with them an hour before returning to your lodge. In the afternoon you can relax at the lodge or have a community walk.
After your breakfast you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha sector, by driving through the "Switzerland of Africa"area known as Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads. After lunch, you'll go for a game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Overnight at your lodge.
Today we will enjoy an early morning game drive. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a home of abundant wildlife with grassy plains, and volcanic craters. You may have an excellent opportunity to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, Cape buffalos, elephants, defassa waterbucks, Uganda kobs, topis and bushbucks. After lunch you'll go for a boat cruise on Kazinga canal which joins Lake Edward and Lake George. You may see hippos and other animals drinking at water's edge. During this cruise you will have the unique opportunity of taking photographs, game viewing and bird watching with over 550 resident species of colorful birds for you to enjoy. Overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast you'll be transferred to Kibale National Park. In the afternoon you'll go chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the chimpanzee. Kibale 1450 chimpanzee represent Uganda's largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the rare L'Hoest's monkey. Other primates include the black and white colobus, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey, red tailed-monkey, olive baboon to mention only a few. You will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of this primates. Overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast you'll reach Murchison Falls National Park passing through the countryside, traditional homesteads and farms. You'll have stop over at Hoima for lunch. Overnight at your lodge
In the early morning you'll set off for a game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile. Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, cape buffalos, Rothchild's giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribsi, bushbucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas and if you are lucky, the leopard. After lunch, you 'll go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Here you will see the River Nile crush through a narrow gorge and forming the magnificent Murchison falls. While on the cruise you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks, and Uganda kobs among others. This area is also home to many birds species like the goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast you'll be transferred back to Kampala via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which houses Uganda's rhino reintroduction project. There are 9 white rhinos and tracking is done on foot and takes about 1 and half hours. Overnight at your lodge.
Depending on your flight time you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
