  • Puebla, rich in sinuous Baroque churches;
  • Tour of the villages surrounding Oaxaca, such as Mitla and Monte Alban;
  • Tuxtla Gutierrez with its charming and verdant landscapes;
  • Sumidero Canyon, a deep gorge between two mountains only 2 km wide;
  • The mountainous San Cristobal de Las Casas, among the best-preserved colonial towns of Mexico;
  • Palenque where you'll visit Agua Azul waterfalls and the local archaeological site;
  • Merida, also known as "white city" due to its colonial buildings.

    Day 1

    Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

    Day 2

    Full day visit of Mexico City and Totihuacan archaeological site. A visit to "Zocalo" is also scheduled: it is the main square with the Cathedral and National Palace. You'll then visit Templo Mayor and the Church of Our Lady of Guadelupe, Mexico's patron and main pilgrimage center in Latin America.

    At the end you'll visit Teotihuacan with the imposing Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

    Mexico City - Oaxaca
    Day 3

    Travel by bus to Puebla and visit the town, which is famous for its baroque churches and local pottery. Lunch in a local restaurant and transfer to Oaxaca by first class bus. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight.

    Full day visit of the surroundings of Oaxaca, starting with Mitla, an ancient Mixteco center, with a stop over at "Tule", an imposing tree which is believed to be the oldest in the world.

    After lunch in a local restaurant, we'll proceed to Monte Alban, the religious capital of the Zapotec population. Built on a levelled hill, it's full of pyramids and tombs and is located in a marvellous panoramic position. Return to Oaxaca in the afternoon and overnight.

    Oaxaca - Tuxtla Gutierrez
    Day 5

    Transfer to Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital city of Chiapas, by scheduled bus. Timing permitting, we'll stop in Chiapa de Corzo to discover the Sumidero Canyon on board of typical motor boats. Lunch in a local restaurant and overnight in Tuxtla Gutierrez or Chiapa de Corzo.

    Note: in some periods the bus from Oaxaca to Tuxtla Gutierrez is only scheduled at night. In these cases, our transfer is scheduled for the night of the 4th day, or for the night of the 5th day, but in this case we'll arrive in Tehuantepec to overnight and continue to Tuxtla the following morning.

    Tuxtla Gutierrez - San Cristobal de las Casas
    Day 6

    Today we'll move towards San Cristobal de Las Casas ascending a mountain street, which goes over 2,000 meters. On the way, we'll stop to visit the native communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, situated a few kilometers from Cristobal. Upon arrival to destination, we'll visit the town, the local market, where it is possible to find local handicrafts products, and the famous churches, including baroque Santo Domingo church.

    San Cristobal de Las Casas - Palenque
    Day 7

    Today you'll descend the mountains of Chiapas, crossing green valleys. Stop over at Agua Azul waterfalls, where we'll enjoy our packet lunch. Arrival in Palenque and check-in to the hotel.

    Day 8

    Full morning visit of Palenque archaeological area, half hidden in the tropical jungle but still fascinating thanks to its unique pyramids.

    Departure to Campeche. Upon arrival brief tour of the old city, still walled and fortified with towers. At the end check-in to the hotel.

    Campeche - Merida
    Day 9

    Today's first stop is at Uxmal archaeological site, one of the most important remains of the Mayan civilization. After lunch, the tour continues to Merida, the capital city of Yucatan, the "white city", so called due to its colonial buildings.

    Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a panoramic tour, including Montejo Avenue, the monument of to Motherland, the main square, the Cathedral and the Government Palace.
