Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Full day visit of Mexico City and Totihuacan archaeological site. A visit to "Zocalo" is also scheduled: it is the main square with the Cathedral and National Palace. You'll then visit Templo Mayor and the Church of Our Lady of Guadelupe, Mexico's patron and main pilgrimage center in Latin America.
At the end you'll visit Teotihuacan with the imposing Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Travel by bus to Puebla and visit the town, which is famous for its baroque churches and local pottery. Lunch in a local restaurant and transfer to Oaxaca by first class bus. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight.
The whole day is dedicated to the discovery of the city of Oaxaca and Monte Alban. In the morning visit to the Zocalo, where it is possible to admire the Cathedral and the church of Santo Domingo. The tour continues to the ancient Santa Catalina de Siena Monastery and the market, which is one of the largest in this region.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we'll start the visit of Monte Alban, religious capital of the Zapotec civilization. This suggestive village is built on a levelled hill and shows several pyramids, tombs, bas-reliefs and breath-taking views. Back to the hotel in the afternoon and overnight.
In the morning we will visit Mitla, an old Mixtec centre, which shows pre-Columbian buildings. At the end of the tour, transfer to Tehuantepec (4 hours) for lunch. In the afternoon the itinerary proceeds to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital city of Chiapas (5 hours). Check-in to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Today we'll move towards San Cristobal de Las Casas ascending a mountain street, which goes over 2,000 meters. On the way, we'll stop to visit the native communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, situated a few kilometers from Cristobal. Upon arrival to destination, we'll visit the town, the local market, where it is possible to find local handicrafts products, and the famous churches, including baroque Santo Domingo church.
Today you'll descend the mountains of Chiapas, crossing green valleys. Stop over at Agua Azul waterfalls, where we'll enjoy our packet lunch. Arrival in Palenque and check-in to the hotel.
Full morning visit of Palenque archaeological area, half hidden in the tropical jungle but still fascinating thanks to its unique pyramids. Lunch in a local restaurant and departure to Campeche.
Upon arrival brief tour of the old city, still walled and fortified with towers. At the end check-in to the hotel.
Today's first stop is at Uxmal archaeological site, one of the most important remains of the Mayan civilization. After lunch, the tour continues to Merida, the capital city of Yucatan, the "white city", so called due to its colonial buildings.
Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a panoramic tour, including Montejo Avenue, the monument of to Motherland, the main square, the Cathedral and the Government Palace.
Departure to Cancun with a stop over at Chichen Itza, probably the most famous Mayan archaeological area, with world-renowned El Castillo. Lunch in a local restaurant and arrival in Cancun in the late afternoon. Check-in to the hotel and overnight.
Transfer to the airport and end of service.
