In the market of Chichicastenango, the most famous of Guatemala, there's a mixture of Mayan and Spanish traditions; every Thursday and Sunday (market days) the small town becomes a real bazaar of handicrafts where you can see and buy a variety of textiles, ceramics and objects of carved wood.

In St.Tomas church, located in the main square, every day come the representatives of several neighboring villages that have been assigned to the worship of various saints. You will be able to see natives offering incense and praying to their gods and saints in a charming mix of pre-Hispanic and Christian rituals.

Free day with optional trip to Tikal.

Tikal is regarded as the most beautiful Mayan site: the incredible abundance of pyramids and stones shows that this city was the most important of the Mayan world in the 8th century. The ruins, mostly still covered ibìn vegetation, are located in an area which is 576 sqkm large and those which have been already brought back to light can be seen while strolling across pyramids up to 70 m high, built 200 years before our era. From the top of the 4th temple, the sight over Peten jungle is impressive.
