Discover more about traditional farming techniques during a cultural visit to an Amish community. In Cahal Pech, Lamanai and Xunantunich, you'll attend lectures revealing the uniqueness of each site and the ongoing archaeological work.

    You'll attend lectures presenting an archaeological perspective on Tikal’s history and ceremonial traditions. Explore the Great Plaza, with the Temple of the Jaguar and the Temple of the Masks, ball court and the sacrificial stone. Finally, admire modern Mayan culture in Flores.

    Day 7-10

    Reach Antigua by coach and learn more about the city’s history and architecture, Mayan life, textiles, religious practices and the origin and evolution of Mayan music. Visit San Antonio, a weaving cooperative, and Casa Koijom, the museum of indigenous music.

    Enjoy a walking tour of Antigua’s old town, colonial churches and a historic home. Overnight in a hotel in Antigua.

    Day 10-13

    Travel by coach to the "Athens of the Mayan world", Copan, where some professional guides will explain the classical period, through interpretation of Mayan hieroglyphs, stelae, medicine and “sacred” cocoa.

    Visit the Museum of Mayan Culture, Las Sepulturas and the ruins of a Mayan residential area. Learn more about traditional chocolate production and visit a local school to get an insight into the Honduran educational system.
