The culture and traditions of Bhutan originate from Buddhism, which is the main religion, but here it is experienced as a real philosophical practice that pervades every daily activity: the development of this small country is in fact based on the so-called Index of National Happiness, thus tying the country's development to the values of existence and therefore pursuing happiness as a primary asset of the people and promoting sustainable economic activities, in the most modern sense that is given to this term.

This 7-day deluxe tour winds in Central Bhutan and is a comprehensive journey into the heart of the country, offering unique experiences and an overview of the cultural aspects of this ancient kingdom. Here are the highlights of the journey:

  • Tour of the main cities, Thimphu, Punakha and Paro: We suggest taking this trip also and especially during the festivals, which offer exciting surprises and emotion-packed moments, such as Thimpu Drupchen and Wangdue Tshechu in October
  • Accommodation in luxury hotels

Access to Bhutan is from India, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore by Druk Air flights to and from Paro. The best times to visit Bhutan are spring (March to May), with the beautiful blooms of rhododendrons, and autumn (late September to late November), with the changing colors of nature. Winter is cold but days are clear, this is the best time for bird-watching; the summer is rainy, from June to August there is the monsoon season, the fields are bright green. A trip to Bhutan requires good adaptability for some long transfers on roads that are not always in good conditions and for some excursions that require trekking to reach the most remote monasteries-dzong. Local guides speak English.
