Your journey will include:
Arrival in Palermo and transfer to the hotel. Meeting with the guide and tour of the marvellous architectural heritage of the city, a set of Arabic, Spanish, Norman and Swabian rule over the centuries. Visit the Cathedral, Palazzo Normanni, Cappella Palatina and Monreale.
Brunch in a historic builidng with typical dishes. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Breakfast and guided tour of Piana degli Albanesi, on of the most important Albanian settlements dating back to the XV century. The little village on the lake still keeps the tradition alive. Tasting of the typical cannolo siciliano (a delicious Sicilian dessert), then continue on to Santa Margherita Belice, a little town which was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1968.
Visit a local winery and enjoy a wine tasting. Here you can admire the city center where the famous writer Tommaso di Lampedusa took inspiration for writing his well-known novel "The Leopard". Dinner and overnight around Agrigento city.
Breakfast and departure for Agrigento. Guided tour of the famous Valle dei Templi (Valley of Temples), preserving ruins of majestic archaeological buildings such as Tempio della Concordia, Temples of Dioscuri, Castore and Polluce.
Tasting of the famous ricotta (a fresh cheese) produced daily in a local cheese factory, where lunch will be served with local dishes. Afternoon visit to Caltagirone, famous for its handicraft ceramics and for the Baroque city centre. Dinner and overnight in Ragusa area.
Breakfast and guided tours of two of the most significant Baroque villages of Sicily: Modica and Ragusa Ibla. Modica is famous for its Baroque churches, while in Ragusa has a stop at St. George Cathedral. Dinner in a traditional Sicilian tavern and overnight.
Breakfast and departure to Marzamemi, a nice fishing village with one of the most ancient "tonnara" in Sicily (a place where tuna was processed after fishing). The town center features a beautiful square and two little churches. Tasting of typical products.
In the afternoon depart for Syracuse, visit the old city center and the marvellous archaeological area. Admire the little island of Ortigia, with the Baroque Cathedral raised on the ancient Athena's temple. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Catania, famous for its black and white buildings, black from the lava stone and white from carved stone. Visit the Duomo square with the famous Elephant statue, Etnea street and a typical fish market. Transfer to Catania airport and end of service.
