South Africa - Useful information for your trip

South Africa is a country located in the southern of the African continent and faces on one hand the Atlantic Ocean, on the other the Indian Ocean. According to modern studies and thanks to the recovery of ancient fossils, it is possible to think that South Africa is the Cradle of Humankind.

The Southern Africa territory is mainly characterized by several uplands, which include mountain ranges, as Table Mountain, Drakensberg and the Swartberg range and Langeberg-Outeniqua mountains. The weather varies from North to South because of its large extension and the different altitudes. The southern part of the country is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, with mild temperatures. The vegetation accurately reflects the climate's features, indeed it is lush in the wet areas and poor in the dry areas. This country boasts breath-taking landscapes among which forests, savannas, steppes and deserts. These are inhabited by rare animal species, as white rhinos, elephants, felines, snakes and many others.

The Southern Africa population is very heterogeneous, it is possible to find different ethnies, as Black African, Coloured, White and Indian or Asian. This is why there are 11 offical languages and different traditions and cultures. In fact, the different ethnies have an own architecture, painting, music and lettrature.
