    Today it's on to Matsumoto and its marvellous castle, situated in Nagano district. Later on move on to Takayama, famous for carpentry and its picturesque ancient wooden houses and temples.

    Today you'll remain speechless in front of the little wooden houses of Shirakawago, a small mountain village in Gifu district, crossed by a river and surrounded by ricefields. It is famous for its traditional gassho- zukuri houses, a feature that has made Unesco list the village among its World Heritage Sites.

    Then it's on to Kanazawa, a beautiful town in Ishikawa district, known for Hakusan National Park, Kenrokuen gardens and its railway station.
