Cagliari

In the deepest point of the Angels Bay in South Sardinia, comes out the city of Cagliari, with thousands of years of history. Regional capital of Sardinia, Cagliari used to be called “Kalaris” during the Roman age and the Realm of Sardinia.

The actual town has been developed around the historical district called ’’Castello’’ (castle) with its walls and towers. In the South, the amazing beach of the Poet extends itself for 8km and ends up at the Sella del Diavolo (the Devil’s saddle). All the area around Cagliari is surrounded by ponds hosting beautiful pink flamingos.

The old town of Cagliari offers all kinds of boutiques, restaurants and services and you will come across many historical monuments like the Basilica of San Saturnino, the most ancient church of Sardinia, the Cathedral of Santa Maria and monumental cemetery of Bonaria, one of the largest in Europe.
