Once arrived in Anchorage, you will pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel in the city.
Your adventure begins today as you venture on the Glenn and Parks Highways north to Denali. Make a stop in Talkeetna, the starting point for Mount McKinley climbing expeditions. Upon arrival at the Denali Park entrance area, you'll check into your overnight accommodation.
You'll get an early start this morning with a shuttle bus trip into Denali National Park. Today you'll learn more about the six million acres of wilderness and the wildlife that encompass this scenic park.
Be sure to bring your camera and look for moose, bears, caribou, and more. You'll then return to the park entrance for your overnight accommodation.
You'll continue your journey north to Alaska’s Golden Heart City, Fairbanks. Optional activities include gold panning, a riverboat tour on the Chena River, and the University of Alaska Museum of the North. Overnight in Fairbanks.
You'll travel south on the Richardson and Alaska Highways to Tok. Overnight in Tok.
Today you'll leave Tok and cross the Canadian border on your drive to Dawson City along the "Top of the World" Highway. Overnight in Dawson City.
The day is yours to experience the attractions of Dawson City. Optional activities in this historic Klondike town include gold panning excursions and Diamond Tooth Gertie’s. Overnight in Dawson City.
On this day you'll travel south along the Klondike Highway to the community of Whitehorse. You'll relax this evening in the Yukon’s capital city. Overnight in Whitehorse.
Today you'll say goodbye to Whitehorse and continue your drive to Haines Junction, gateway to Yukon’s Kluane National Park. Overnight in Haines Junction.
You'll start your day with a visit to the Kluane National Park Visitors Center. After learning what the park has to offer, the remainder of the day is free for outdoor activities and sightseeing as you please. Overnight in Haines Junction.
You'll travel the Alaska Highway north to Tok. En route you may wish to make a rest stop at Kluane Lake or Beaver Creek. Welcome back to Alaska: you'll spend the night in Tok.
Today you'll make your way to Chitina, gateway to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Overnight in Chitina.
This morning you'll board your scenic flight to McCarthy at the Chitina airport. You'll have the unique chance to soak in the breathtaking mountain views from the sky. Overnight in the little town of McCarthy.
Today is free to explore McCarthy and Kennicott as you please. You may opt to take a historic tour of the Mill Town or join a guided glacier hike. Overnight in McCarthy.
You'll say goodbye to McCarthy as you board your return flight to Chitina. You'll then pick up your vehicle and drive south on the Richardson Highway through scenic Thompson Pass to the community of Valdez, located on the shores of Prince William Sound.
You'll stop at Worthington Glacier prior to your arrival in Valdez. Overnight in Valdez.
You'll drive your vehicle aboard the Alaska Marine Highway today for your passage to Whittier. You will ferry through Prince William Sound, known for its magnificent glaciers and marine wildlife, so keep your eyes open for photo opportunities along the way.
Upon arrival in Whittier, you'll travel through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, North America’s longest tunnel. You'll then continue your drive south along the Seward Highway to the seaside community of Seward. Overnight in Seward.
This morning you'll experience Kenai Fjords National Park on a day cruise. Your six-hour cruise includes lunch on board and offers opportunities to view tidewater glaciers and a variety of marine wildlife including sea lions, sea otters, whales, puffins, and more.
The remainder of the day is free for additional activities. Suggested options include the Alaska SeaLife Center (marine research and rehabilitation center) and Exit Glacier. Overnight in Seward.
The last drive on your journey is recognized as one of the most scenic in North America. Take time along the way to capture photographs or perhaps take a short walk or hike on one of the many trails along the Seward Highway. Upon arrival in Anchorage, check in to your hotel for your overnight.
As your Alaska adventure comes to an end, the day is free for any activities you may have not had a chance to experience.
