Best time to take part in this tour: May and September - For groups and companies price will be agreed.
Early in the morning we'll leave the noise of Manila heading for Baler by our Land Rovers. Baler is a town located in the province of Aurora on the eastern part of the island of Luzon. A journey of about 250 km. Here, we'll take a banca, a typical local boat, and move up to the coast.
We'll continue our trip on board of the banca for few kilometers till starting our trek to reach Palanan. Once got off the banca, we'll enter in Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park, a wonderful natural enviroment characterized by a lush rainforest.
Palanan is the biggest village in this part of the coast; here, we'll stay in home stays.
The whole day is dedicated to the visit of the village and its main tourist sights. We'll visit Palanan Forestal Dynamics Plot, a scientific research station in the tropical rainforest.
Today you'll enjoy your free day in Palanan in order to appreciate as much as possible the amazing surrounding natural environment.
On board of a banca we'll move from Palanan to Divilacan, where it is possible to visit a real Agta village.
We'll spend three amazing days in Divilacan. The first and second day we'll stay in an Agta village to discover the traditions and the culture of this population. We'll see how they fish in the rivers and how they hunt in the jungle. On the third day we'll discover the ocean, where it is possible to fish with the Agtas and snorkel in the corals.
Divilacan is the second village on our route. Here we'll have the chance to visit mangrove swamps, swim in the coral reefs, and hopefully we will spot Philippine crocodile, when we go out with a boat during night time with a flash light.
This part of Philippines is recognized as the last wilderness, therefore we cannot guarantee any wildlife encounters. Anyway, in the jungle we'll be able to admire Philippines eagle, Philippine Macaque monkey, hornbills, deers, boars, wild chickens and monitor lizards amongst many others. On the coastal area out on the Pacific we might glimpse dolphins, sea turtles, sperm whales, humpback whales, colorful coral fishes, salt water crocodiles and dugong amongst many others. And finally, we won't miss the flights of flying foxes for hunting at sunset.
Enjoy your free day in Divilacan to discover the surrounding area according to your personal style.
Today we'll leave the beautiful nature of Divilacan for Maconacon. Then, from here we'll take a boat to go up north on the east coast of Luzon and arrive in Santa Ana.
Today is our last day, we'll spend it to go back to the capital city, Manila.
