The Gajner Palace is located in the Thar Desert on the bank of the lake, covers over 6000 acres. It is not far from Bikaner.

The hotel is divided into four distinct wings: Dungar Niwas, Mandir Chowk, Gulab Niwas and Champa Niwas. The 13 historic suites are located in the wing Dungar Niwas where British dignitaries were staying during their travels. Each suite has been renovated to regain its original greatness. Every detail, from furniture to wallpaper, from the four-poster bed to the windows, has been carefully recreated and offers a times past atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with the modern conveniences. The hotel also has 32 deluxe rooms in Gulab Niwas, Champa Niwas (newly built area) and Mandir Chowk.

The resort has two restaurants, Mirage Restaurant and Lake Terrace, specializing in continental cuisine and traditional Indian cuisine.

Available for the customers there are: tennis court, pool, library, puppet shows, folk dances, laundry service, tourist information desk, currency exchange, safe box, internet and doctor on call.

The Gajner Palace was converted into a hotel in 1976. At the time of British control in India, the hotel was a hunting lodge that attracted several dignitaries, including the Prince of Wales in 1905, the Governor General Lord Elgin, Lord Erwin in 1927 Lord Mountbatten.
