Fundación Trekkingchile was established in 1997 in Chile with the aim of supporting the development of sustainable tourism in the country, trying to connect people with the natural environment in a responsible and conscious way, contributing to the progress of local communities, especially rural ones.

Sustainable tourism can really produce economic, cultural and social effects by benefiting local populations since it doesn't require huge initial investments if compared to traditional tourism, because it is based on an environment which must be as pristine as possible.

While making these natural and cultural spaces available to a large number of people, we spread knowledge on environment protection and the creation of respectful and balanced job opportunities.

Our fundacion supports little enterpreneurs developing their products and marketing their offers, giving emphasis on the promotion of customs and traditions, which are at the basis of the marketing stratetgy used to attract customers.

This promotion of local culture increases economic benefits and contributes to the enhancement of the self-esteem of these groups.
