Depart by plane from Paramaribo around 10 and arrive in Kwamalasamutu around 12. After moving into the traditional hammock camp on the banks of the river, you will visit the Graman (the great chief of the Trio Indians), in the afternoon you will enjoy a village tour and get to know the various traditional tribes with their lifestyles and daily households.
After breakfast, you will get ready for the trip to Sipaliwini. By noon you will reach the base camp for the night. Opportunity for fishing, swimming or just relaxing.
After breaking up your camp and a good breakfast, you will continue your journey to Sipaliwini and arrive around 1 pm. In the afternoon you will meet the captain of this village and the local population. In the evening social gathering in the camp along the river Sipaliwini where you will stay the night.
After breakfast you will depart for Mamia in Sipaliwini savannah, in search of the Dendrobatis Azureus (rare blue poison frogs), also known as Okopipi, which is only found in this area of Suriname.
Then you will take a walk of about 1.5 hours to the top of the Four Brothers, enjoying a magnificent view of the savannah and Brazil the distance. In the afternoon return to base camp in Mamia where you will spend the night.
You will sail by boat back to Sipaliwini, after a short break where you will walk through the jungle to spot the Rock Cockerels (Cock of the Rock). In the afternoon, archery and swimming in the river. In the evening, on request, you can enjoy a cultural show of song and dance with the local people.
After breakfast you will get ready for an adventurous trip across the many rapids to the base camp for the night, where you will enjoy a beautiful starry sky and many natural sounds from the rainforest such as those of frogs, howler monkeys, etc. You will also take a night cruise to spot crocodiles, frogs, snakes, etc.
Leave base camp for a jungle walk through the breathtaking nature into the caves of Werephai with the newly discovered petroglyphs (rock drawings). These caves were discovered in 2001 and are between 5.000 and 10.000 years old.
After a short stop at Iwanasamu, you will sail for Kwamalasamutu, where you will spend the last night. In the afternoon you can visit the Shaman or the women's center for souvenirs, if you wish.
Return to Paramaribo.
