This spectacular nine-day journey winds its way from Pretoria to Cape Town and includes a golfing and non-golfing itinerary. After a game drive in world- famous Kruger Park, you will travel towards Zululand for game viewing at Hluhluwe, the oldest African reserve. The train then travels the coast along St Lucia Wetland Park to Durban for a city tour and through the Valley of a Thousand Hills to Ardmore Ceramics. You'll then enjoy a tour of Bloemfontein and then continue overnight along the imposing Drakensberg Mountains to Port Elizabeth for Addo Elephant Park. Then you'll move to Oudtshoorn for an ostrich-farm visit followed by a rail descent through the Outeniqua Mountains to George. After visiting the natural paradise of Knysna, the train traverses the spectacular Garden Route to the winelands for a brandy distillery visit and across the Cape Fold Mountains before the expedition ends in Cape Town. Golfers play Leopard Creek at Kruger, Durban Country Club, Humewood in Port Elizabeth, Fancourt in Knysna & Ernie Els Oubaai in George. Available in reverse, from Cape Town to Pretoria.
At 9 am you'll check-in at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria for departure at 10. Lunch and dinner are served as the train travels east towards Mpumalanga.
Today golfers will tee off at Leopard Creek near Kruger with lunch. Non-golfers will enjoy a game drive in the Kruger Park with lunch. At 5 pm you will rejoin the train at Komatipoort and depart for Zululand.
Today you'll enjoy a game drive in the Hluhluwe Reserve in Zululand. Lunch is served at 1 pm as the train travels south alongside the St Lucia Wetland Park to Durban for the overnight stop.
Today golfers will tee off at Durban Country Club. After lunch, you will enjoy a one-hour scenic drive along the Midlands Meander to join the train at Lions River. Non-golfers will disembark at 8 am for a short city tour of Durban.You'll then traverse the Valley of a Thousand Hills to Ardmore Ceramics for a two-hour afternoon visit.At 4 pm you'll return to the train for dinner and overnight. Traverse the Drakensberg.
At 9 am you'll disembark for a city tour of Bloemfontein. You'll then travel to Coerney/Alicedale across the Drakensberg Mountains.
Golfers will enjoy a one-hour transfer from Alicedale to Humewood Course for a game and lunch before joining the train in Port Elizabeth. Non-golfers will partake a game drive at Addo Elephant Park. At 11.30 you'll rejoin the train and depart for Port Elizabeth.In the afternoon experience the train being turned around then depart for Oudtshoorn via Willowmore.
Golfers will arrive in Oudtshoorn at 7 am and will be transferred to George along Montagu Pass .At 10.30 they will tee off at Fancourt and enjoy dinner at the estate. Non-golfers will enjoy a two-hour ostrich-farm visit in Oudtshoorn and traverse the Montagu Pass to George.They will disembark for dinner at Fancourt Estate at 6.30 pm.
Golfers will be transferred to Ernie Els Oubaai for tee off at 8 am. Non-golfers will have a free morning in Knysna or for a ferry ride to Featherbed. At 1 pm you will depart George and travel along the Garden Route via the Outeniqua Mountains to the coast for Riversdale.
At 11 am you'll enjoy a two-hour tour of the KWV Brandy Distillery, Worcester. At 5 pm you'll arrive at Platform 23 at Cape Town Station.
