Our wine-lover’s tour begins in Italy. Arrival at Rome and transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing tour of the city, and the rest of the day free.
Breakfast in the hotel and the first of our must-see visits in Italy. Vatican City awaits, where we can admire the museums and the Sistine Chapel, and the colossal Basilica of St. Peter.
Early in the morning we set off for Tuscany, the land of Chianti. Our first stop will be Pisa. On arrival we will check into the hotel and then set out on a guided tour, including the famous leaning tower.
Chianti is one of Italy’s most prestigious red wines and famous around the world. We will visit the Cantine Castello Di Verazzano, and after being shown around the winery, we can enjoy a tasting. After the visit we will go back to Pisa. Free time.
A good breakfast to start the day, which we will spend in the beautiful Villa Dianella Fucini. Chianti Dianella has been well-known throughout Italy since the 1900s, and today is served in the most famous restaurants. An estate in the purest Tuscan style, exquisite and elegant, where we will enjoy the wines in a tasting of its best products.
We leave Tuscany and head for the Piedmont region. Our destination is Turin, although we will stop on the way to visit Marchesi di Barolo, another jewel in the crown of Italian winemaking.
Arrival in Turin and transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast we will travel to Montferrat to visit Cantine Cavallero and enjoy a tasting of the fragrant, agreeable and aromatic wines of the area. We continue our journey, leaving Italy and entering France. Arrival in Lyon and the hotel.
Tour of the city of Lyon with a local guide. Afterwards, we will have our first tasting of French wines. Domaine Alain Voge is a family winery of deeply rooted traditions and very special wines. We continue our journey to Bordeaux, where we will stay overnight.
Capital of the Aquitaine region, known for its excellent seafood and the quality of its wines, Bordeaux is home to 362 heritage sites, first class museums and a pedestrianised shopping street more than a kilometre long. Sightseeing tour of the city and transfer to Château Batailley, one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. We will enjoy a gourmet tasting in this charming castle and its scenic vineyards.
We start the day with a good breakfast and set off for Spain. Along the way we will stop at Château Gaudin, with impressive vineyards covering more than 11 hectares. On to Logroño, where we will stay overnight.
Today we will enjoy two treasures of Spain's wine culture. In the town of Haro we will visit Bodegas Muga, where we will have fun in a competitive wine tasting. Next we will travel to the region known as Ribera del Duero. There we will tour the traditional winery Bodega Histórica Don Carlos S. XV.
We will get an early start for an intense day full of sensations. From Logroño to Salamanca, we will stop on the way in Toro and the Bodega Estancia Piedra. Its name means “stone room” and reflects its beauty. After the tasting we will continue on to Salamanca, where we will stay overnight.
We can’t leave Spain without enjoying another of its famous flavours, Serrano ham. We will visit a farm which makes the best Ibérico ham in Guijuelo. With the memory of this intense flavour on our palates, we will continue on our way. Our journey takes us to Portugal. Arrival in Porto and transfer to the hotel.
Sightseeing tour of beautiful Porto, followed by the full experience of its wine culture in the winery Quinta da Aveleda, where we will try vinho verde, and the exquisite port wines of Quinta Ferreira.
Breakfast and an early start, leaving Porto for Fátima, a worldwide centre of pilgrimage to its shrine in homage to the appearance of the Virgin Mary. After our visit we continue to Lisbon. Arrival and accommodation.
After breakfast in the hotel, we'll take a sightseeing tour of Lisbon, stopping at over 40 points of interest including the 15th-century Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Palace, the symbol of the Portuguese capital.
You will certainly enjoy the famous cakes, pasteis de Belém, in the namesake neighbourhood.
Free afternoon and optional dinner with a Fado performance in a traditional restaurant in the fascinating Alfama district.
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for the return flight home.
