From China to Tibet: on the roof of the world by train

Arrive at Beijing airport and meeting with our guide. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation in the booked rooms.

The full day is dedicated to the visit of the Great Wall of China, long over 6,000 km and considered one of the wonders of the world, the construction of the Wanli Changcheng started in 220 b.C.

During the journey back to Beijing, stop to visit the Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way, a big necropolis, which hosts the remains belonging to 13 Ming's Kings. It is preceded by the so called "Spirit Way", a street over 7 km long, studded by statues of militaries, dignitaries and mythological animals.

After breakfast, visit to the Temple of Heaven, a masterwork of the local architecture and one of the symbols of the city.

Then, transfer to the Hutong district and lunch offered by a local family.

During the afternoon departure for Xian by airplane; upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

Full day of tour in Xian with guide. Visit to: Small and Big Wild Goose Pagodas and the famous Terracotta Army of Lingtong.

After lunch, the tour continues visiting the Mosque and the renowned Wall of the city.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and departure for Xining.

After lunch, panoramic tour of Xining. Visit to: Great Dongguan Mosque and Northern Buddhist Temple, from which it is possible to enjoy a breath-taking view of the whole city.

After breakfast, visit to the Ta'er Monastery.

Lunch at restaurant and transfer to the railway station to depart for Lhasa. During the travel, passage through the Qinghai-Tibet upland.

The morning is dedicated to the visit of Potala, winter residence of Dalai Lama.

After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues visiting Jokhang Monastery and strolling around Barkor Street, a lively local market.

After breakfast, the tour continues to Yamdrok Lake. During the journey it is possible to enjoy the wideness of the Tibetan upland. Yamdrok Lake is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and offers breath-taking landscapes. It is located in the area of Lhoka, 4,441 meters over the sea level and it is also the largest lake of the northern Himalayan region.

Break to take some pictures and enjoy the amazing panorama.

After lunch in a local restuarant, transfer to Gyantse. Once there, transfer to the hotel, free dinner and overnight.

In the morning, visit to the Pelkor Chode Monastery, which hosts a wonderful octagonal stupa dated back to the 15th century.

The tour continues to the city of Shigatse, visit to the damous Tashilhunpo Monastery, founded by the first Dalai Lama in 1447. It is the home of Panchen Lama, one of the most important religious figure in Tibet.

After breakfast, transfer to Lhasa.

During the travel, stop at a local restaurant to have lunch.

Once arrived in Lhasa, visit to Norbulingka. Then, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and departure for Chengdu.

Visit to the Conservation & Research center for the giant panda, where researchers try to safeguard this specie, which faces the extinction risk. The center was founded to defend, protect and nurse this animals. Here, it is possible to admire several giant pandas.

At the end, back to Chengdu.

After breakfast, departure for Leshan, where it is possible to admire the beautiful Giant Buddha, 71 meters high and carved in the rock. It is located in a particular location: in the point where two rivers meet each other.
