Arrival at Sofia airport and meeting with the local guide. Guided tour of the historic center of the Bulgarian capital. Accommodation in hotel. Folk night with dinner and show, overnight.
Departure to Rila Monastery. Visit the largest monastery in the country, established in the 10th century by the most venerated Bulgarian saint, the hermit St.Ivan Rilski. Lunch near the monastery with fresh trout from local breeding farms.
Departure to Bansko, accommodation in hotel in Bansko. Free time. Dinner and overnight.
In the morning walking tour of the old part of Bansko with little cobbled streets. Lunch in a tavern in Bansko. Departure to Melnik, the smallest town in Bulgaria. Tasting of local wines of the south-western wine area in a local winery. Dinner and overnight.
Departure to Plovdiv. Walking tour of the old town. Lunch and free time. In the evening wine tasting and dinner in Todoroff winery. Overnight in a hotel.
In the morning visit Bachkovo monastery, the second largest shrine in Bulgaria. Lunch in the area of the monastery. Return to Plovdiv. Free time. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.
Departure to Sliven. Wine tasting and lunch in Domaine Boyar winery in Sliven. After lunch travel to Sungurlare. Visit the viticulture and wine museum in Sungurlare. Lunch. Continue to Varna. Accommodation and overnight in Varna.
Visit to Varna with lunch. Wine tasting near Varna and Evskinograd in Old Varna winery (in the eastren wine area). Dinner and overnight in hotel.
After breakfast travel to Shumen. Along the way you'll stop at "Pobiti kamani" rock formation. Lunch in a restaurant. Continue to Veliko Tarnovo, the ancient capital of Bulgaria over the 12th-14th centuries. Visit Tsarevets hill with the partially renovated fortress and enjoy a short walk in the old town center and in the artisan district.
In the evening take part in a wine tasting with dinner in Lyaskovets winery (in the northern wine area). Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
Departure to Gabrovo. Visit the Ethnographic Museum "Etar". Lunch. Departure to Karlovo. Along the way stop to visit the monument to freedom which is part of the park-museum in Shipka and the tomb of the Thracian sovereign Sevt III. Visit the Rose Museum in Kazanlak.
Liquor tasting and rose jam tasting. Wine tasting in Rosova Dolina winery ("rose valley"), the wine area below the Balkans. Return to Sofia, dinner and overnight.
Free morning. Transfer from the hotel to the airport in Sofia. Departure.
