Thailand - Useful information for your trip

Thailand is a country located in the south-eastern part of Asia, in the local language “thai” means free, and it is the way in which the inhabitants are called. Its capital city is Bangkok.

Its geography is characterized by different morphological features. The mountains are located to the north, where the Mekong River flows. The central part hosts a wide and fertile valley. While in the Gulf of Siam and in the Andaman Sea many and many islands and islets are located. Thailand boasts an uncountable number of amazing beaches. Most of them are white sandy beaches lapped by a crystal-clear sea. Among the most beautiful and popular beaches are Kata Beach, Koh Lipe, Patong Beach, Railay Bay and Cho Chang. Each provides a breath-taking landscape. There, it is possible to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature while you are serenely drinking a fresh cocktail or enjoying the typical Thai cuisine. 

The climate is influenced by the monsoon, this is why from the middle of May to September there is the rainy season, while the other months are drier.

Thailand also offers a rich art and culture and several lively and modern cities with a hectic nightlife, such as the capital Bangkok, that attracts a large number of tourists every year, Nonthaburi, Nakhon, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket and  Udon Thani.

Unmissable spots are the temples and the  floating markets, where the inhabitants sell fruits, vegetables, fishes and local products on board of typical boats. Worth visiting are also the ricefields, fascinating and greeny terraced fields extending up to the horizon. Moreover, it is not possible to go back home from this mysterious country without enjoying a local thai massage. Its technique and origindate back to a distant and legendary past.
