Here are some highlights:
Arrival in Jakarta, check in to the hotel at the airport building. Your flight tomorrow departs early in the morning.
Fly from Jakarta to Semarang and then to Pangkalan Bun. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be picked up by your local staff and taken to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 6m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rainforest as it glides by.
The guide's team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. Lunch is served on the way to Tanjung Harapan, a rehabilitation center for orphaned orangutans, 2 hours away from Kumai. Here the playful and friendly baby orangutans are taught the first stages in fending themselves in the jungle. In the afternoon you will slowly explore the river. Dinner and overnight on the boat. Lunch and dinner included.
After breakfast, sail by the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans.
At Camp Leakey you will have opportunity to trek into the rain forest with your expert guide and the forestry rangers to appreciate the flora as well as perhaps sighting wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques and birds. Lunch provided on boat. Afternoon visit the feeding station. Dinner and overnight on the boat. All meals included.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Jogjakarta. Arrival in Jogjakarta and then transfer to hotel. Time at leisure. Breakfast included.
City tour visiting the Sultan Royal Palace, ‘Ngasem’ Bird Market, the Water Castle (Taman Sari), processing of batik at Batik Home Industry and processing of silverware at Kotagede. Then in the afternoon, proceed to visit Borobudur temple, one of the largest Buddhist monuments in the world. Back to the hotel and overnight. Breakfast included.
In the morning, pay a visit to the famous Prambanan temple, the most beautiful Hindu monument in Indonesia. Then fly to Bali around noon. Arrival in Bali and check in to hotel. Breakfast included.
Upon arrival at Waioti Airport in Maumere, meeting service and transfer to Moni. Visit the villages of Wolowaru, then Lio hill-tribes of Jopu and Ranggase, offering fine “Ikat” weaving. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Ende. All meals included.
Early morning, drive up to the three-colored lake of Kelimutu, one of Indonesia's most mysterious and dramatic sights. Continue to Moni for breakfast, then continue to Ende for its traditional market. Lunch at a local restaurant, then it's on to Nuabosi, offering wonderful views of the town and Ende Bay.
Proceed to Bajawa with en route stop at Wogo village, which has a collection of rather neglected megaliths. All meals included.
Bajawa is located in the heart of Ngadha ethnic civilization, which is known for the megalithic cultures. There are traditional villages furnished with stone monuments, ancestor worship shrines and Adat houses. Visit local villages and then drive to Ruteng for lunch.
It is another beautiful driving day; you will pass the villages and rainforest. In the afternoon proceed to Labuan Bajo and stop enroute at Cara village in Cancar area to see the Lingko, the spider web shaped ricefields. All meals included.
Early in the morning sail to Komodo and then trek the trail to reach Banunggulung, the former feeding ground to watch the Komodo Dragons. There is Komodo Nature Park Museum, take your chance to have a look. Then take a boat to Bima. Lunch on board. Arrive in Bima late afternoon. All meals included.
En route to the airport take a short sightseeing and visit Labuhan Bajo morning market, then fly to Bali. Breakfast included.
Fly from Bali to Makassar. Upon arrival at Hasanuddin airport, pick up service by the guide and transfer to the Toraja highlands. The drive will be a journey trough the picturesque landscape of south Sulawesi. Lunch en route at Barru beach.
Overnight at Rantepao, a nice town approximately 800 m above sea level. Breakfast and lunch included.
After breakfast at the hotel, visit to the royal family tombs at Suaya, the cliffside stone grave with wooden ‘’tau - tau “ effigies on the balcony at Lemo, the baby’s graves in the huge tree at Kambira.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with ricefield view. After lunch, the next interesting places to visit are Londa, the natural cave grave, and Kete Kesu, traditional wooden carving village and hanging grave. Breakfast and lunch included.
Visit Palawa, a village with the beautiful scenery of the Toraja family houses, the 'Tongkonan', with buffalo horns decorating the front of their houses, then Sa’ dan To’Barana, the traditional cotton weaving village, Batutumonga, the highland area and the beautiful landscape of 1355 meters high, which has a temperature of 17 degree in the daytime. Lunch will be served here.
Then it's on to Lo’ ko mata, the graves on the rocky slope. Then trekking from Pana to Tikala, the most fascinating spot that can be seen along the way. Breakfast and lunch included.
Drive back to Makassar and then fly back to Jakarta. End of service. Breakfast included.
