Here are the highlights of your tailromade trip and holiday:
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport with your guide who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. You are advised to have your money changed on arrival before setting off for the country side.
After a short break, drive west to Fort Portal through verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. The drive approximately takes 5 hours. Arrive at the lodge in time for a late lunch. Relax at the lodge or take a un guided walk around the lodge to enjoy the beauty of the area. FB.
After breakfast visit Kibale Forest National Park, where the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa is exceptionally represented. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee known to be a delightful ape. It is also a home of species like the rare I'Hoest's monkey, the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon among others. The walk takes 2-3 hours.
After lunch go for a walk in Bigodi swamp where you may see a variety of bird species and other smaller mammals. FB.
After breakfast head for Bwindi impenetrable national park passing through the so called "Switzerland of Africa", the Kigezi Highlands, with its terraced hillside and winding roads. With all the volcanic activity in this area the scenic beauty is breathtaking. Have a stop of at a local Bakiga community to see how they live. Continue to the lodge arriving late evening. After an early morning breakfast proceed to the starting point to embark on your Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, an unforgettable experience of your lifetime. Don't forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch and plenty of water. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend with them an hour before returning to your lodge. Time allowing; take a community walk around the lodge and visit a school. Overnight at your lodge, FB.
After an early breakfast at 7 am head for Entebbe international airport, with a lunch stop on the way. Arrive in time for check in time for your home bound flight: end of services.
