    Day 1

    Welcome! Upon arrival you will be received and transfer to your hotel. After the check-in, your afternoon will be available at leisure.

    Mexico city tour and anthropology museum
    Day 2

    Get to know one of the world's biggest and most exciting cities! This guided tour will take you to the historical centre of Mexico City, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Your visit will include the “The Zocalo”, the heart of the city, where you will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the oldest and largest of the Americas, and the National Palace, where you can admire the famous murals of Diego Rivera.

    You will also see the ruins of the Templo Mayor, one of the most important temples of the Aztecs in their ancient capital city of Tenochtitlan. Afterwards, we'll reach the stunning Paseo de la Reforma Avenue up to Chapultepec Park. This latter is one of the largest parks in the world, but years ago, it hosted the summer residences for the noble class of the Aztecs. Then, we will visit the Museum of Anthropology considered to be among the world’s finest of its kind. Here you will admire the famous Aztec calendar stone, models of Tenochtitlán, a fascinating market place diorama, giant stone Olmec heads from the jungles of Tabasco and Veracruz, among many other interesting treasures.

    Pyramids of Teotihuacan and the shrine of Guadalupe
    Day 3

    Discover Teotihuacán, ‘the place where gods were created’.

    Teotihuacan is one of the most impressive archaeological sites of the country. The history of Teotihuacan is quite mysterious. The earliest buildings were constructed around 200 BC. It is assumed that the city may have counted 200,000 inhabitants during its period of prosperity. During this guided excursion you will encounter the magic and mystery of Teotihuacan.

    Admire the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Walk down the Avenue of the Dead, visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl with its unique stone sculptures of plumed serpents, the Temple of the Butterflies, and the Fortresses.

    Before arriving back at your hotel, we make a stop at the Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a pilgrimage place for millions of Mexicans and people from all around the world.

    Mexico City - Oaxaca
    Day 4

    Today we leave Mexico City behind. We are heading west towards Puebla, Mexico’s fourth largest city, passing the photogenic, snow-capped volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. A visit is planned to Santa Maria Tonantzintla with its gorgeous temple decorated by indigenous people.

    In Puebla, also known as the “City of Angels”, we will visit the extraordinary Rosary Chapel, the Cathedral, the main square and its beautiful historical centre.

    Lunch included.

    Continue to Oaxaca, one of the most colorful colonial towns of Mexico and, just like Puebla, listed as World Heritage.

    Oaxaca
    Day 5

    Full day visit of the surroundings of Oaxaca, starting with Monte Alban, the religious capital of the Zapotec population. Built on a leveled hill, it's full of pyramids and tombs and is located in a marvelous panoramic position. Here, we'll find several evidences of different populations, such as Olmecs, Mixtecs and Zapotecs. Then, the tour proceeds to Mitla, an ancient Mixteco center, with a stop over at "Tule", an imposing tree which is believed to be the oldest in the world.

    Return to Oaxaca in the afternoon to enjoy the wonders of the city, which boasts wonderful crafts, tasty gastronomy and important sights, such as the Cathedral, the fabulous Santo Domingo church, the Museum of Gold and the lively and colorful "20 de Noviembre" an indoor market.

    Oaxaca - San Cristobal de las Casas
    Day 6

    Departure to San Cristobal de las Casas, in the beautiful state of Chiapas.

    On the way you will enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Sierra Sur. Today’s highlight will be a boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, which measures a thousand meters at its highest point. Admire the beautiful rock formations and enjoy the abundant wildlife that lives on the shores of the Grijalva River (crocodiles, spider monkeys, and many different species of birds). Then, you'll pass the historical town Chiapa de Corzo, before arriving to San Cristobal de las Casas. Dinner and overnight.

    Day 7

    Scheduled for today is an excursion full of mysticism and magic. Visit the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, located in the highlands of Chiapas. In both Tzotzil Maya communities, the complex ethnic composition of Chiapas is well reflected and they still demonstrate a rich variety of customs and beliefs expressed in traditions of both pagan and Christian origin. Interestingly, San Juan Chamula enjoys a unique autonomous status within Mexico, which has kept the village authentic.

    Afternoon at leisure.

    We recommend you to explore the beautiful city of San Cristobal de las Casas with, amongst its many attractions, a colorful market, the cathedral and the Jade museum.

    from San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque
    Day 8

    Transfer to Palenque and stop to visit the waterfalls of Agua Azul.

    The turquoise color, which makes these waterfalls so unique, comes from the high level of mineral content of the water. Enjoy the surrounding jungle environment and go for a swim (if time permits it).

    Afterwardsthe tour continues through lush jungle with Palenque as today’s final destination. In the evening, dinner at the hotel.

    Palenque - Campeche
    Day 9

    In the morning visit the archaeological site of Palenque, still partly hidden by the tropical jungle, full of charm and unique pyramids. After the visit of the wonders located in this World Heritage Site, departure to Campeche. Upon arrival panoramic tour of the town, still enclosed and fortified with towers and walls, still preserving a strong colonial flavor. Check in to the hotel and dinner at the hotel.

    Campeche - Merida
    Day 10

    Today's first stop is at Uxmal archaeological site, one of the most important remains of the Mayan civilization. After lunch, the tour continues to Merida, the capital city of Yucatan, the "white city", so called due to its colonial buildings.

    Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a panoramic tour, including Montejo Avenue, the monument of to Motherland, the main square, the Cathedral and the Government Palace.

    Merida - Cancun
    Day 11

    On the way to Cancun, you will visit Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is undoubtedly the best-preserved Maya site on the Yucatan peninsula. It is not only recognized as UNESCO World Heritage, it was also recently declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It´s definitely one of the most iconic buildings of the country, a site that can´t be missed on a trip to Mexico. Various different architectural styles are seen in Chichen Itza. Most famous landmarks are the Temple of Kukulkan (“El Castillo”), the Ballgame Court, the Platform of the Skulls, the Temple of the Jaguar, the Observatory, the One Thousand Columns, and the Sacred Cenote.

    Lunch at a local restaurant near the archaeological site, and arrival in Cancun (accommodation upon request).
