You will also see the ruins of the Templo Mayor, one of the most important temples of the Aztecs in their ancient capital city of Tenochtitlan. Afterwards, we'll reach the stunning Paseo de la Reforma Avenue up to Chapultepec Park. This latter is one of the largest parks in the world, but years ago, it hosted the summer residences for the noble class of the Aztecs. Then, we will visit the Museum of Anthropology considered to be among the world’s finest of its kind. Here you will admire the famous Aztec calendar stone, models of Tenochtitlán, a fascinating market place diorama, giant stone Olmec heads from the jungles of Tabasco and Veracruz, among many other interesting treasures.
Discover Teotihuacán, ‘the place where gods were created’.
Teotihuacan is one of the most impressive archaeological sites of the country. The history of Teotihuacan is quite mysterious. The earliest buildings were constructed around 200 BC. It is assumed that the city may have counted 200,000 inhabitants during its period of prosperity. During this guided excursion you will encounter the magic and mystery of Teotihuacan.
Admire the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Walk down the Avenue of the Dead, visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl with its unique stone sculptures of plumed serpents, the Temple of the Butterflies, and the Fortresses.
Before arriving back at your hotel, we make a stop at the Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a pilgrimage place for millions of Mexicans and people from all around the world.
Today we leave Mexico City behind. We are heading west towards Puebla, Mexico’s fourth largest city, passing the photogenic, snow-capped volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. A visit is planned to Santa Maria Tonantzintla with its gorgeous temple decorated by indigenous people.
In Puebla, also known as the “City of Angels”, we will visit the extraordinary Rosary Chapel, the Cathedral, the main square and its beautiful historical centre.
Lunch included.
Continue to Oaxaca, one of the most colorful colonial towns of Mexico and, just like Puebla, listed as World Heritage.
Full day visit of the surroundings of Oaxaca, starting with Monte Alban, the religious capital of the Zapotec population. Built on a leveled hill, it's full of pyramids and tombs and is located in a marvelous panoramic position. Here, we'll find several evidences of different populations, such as Olmecs, Mixtecs and Zapotecs. Then, the tour proceeds to Mitla, an ancient Mixteco center, with a stop over at "Tule", an imposing tree which is believed to be the oldest in the world.
Return to Oaxaca in the afternoon to enjoy the wonders of the city, which boasts wonderful crafts, tasty gastronomy and important sights, such as the Cathedral, the fabulous Santo Domingo church, the Museum of Gold and the lively and colorful "20 de Noviembre" an indoor market.
Departure to San Cristobal de las Casas, in the beautiful state of Chiapas.
On the way you will enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Sierra Sur. Today’s highlight will be a boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, which measures a thousand meters at its highest point. Admire the beautiful rock formations and enjoy the abundant wildlife that lives on the shores of the Grijalva River (crocodiles, spider monkeys, and many different species of birds). Then, you'll pass the historical town Chiapa de Corzo, before arriving to San Cristobal de las Casas. Dinner and overnight.
Scheduled for today is an excursion full of mysticism and magic. Visit the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, located in the highlands of Chiapas. In both Tzotzil Maya communities, the complex ethnic composition of Chiapas is well reflected and they still demonstrate a rich variety of customs and beliefs expressed in traditions of both pagan and Christian origin. Interestingly, San Juan Chamula enjoys a unique autonomous status within Mexico, which has kept the village authentic.

We recommend you to explore the beautiful city of San Cristobal de las Casas with, amongst its many attractions, a colorful market, the cathedral and the Jade museum.
