Here are some of the highlights of your tour:
Arrival at Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas and reception by the guide. Exit tour to the Canyon del Sumidero. Arrival to the pier for a two-hour boat ride around the canyon. Tour to the colonial Chiapa de Corzo recently named World heritage site by its celebrations of parachicos. Visit guided on foot by its historical center. Free time to have lunch in Chiapa de Corzo, recently declared Unesco World Heritage Site. Lunch at leisure.
Guided walking tour of the historic center and visit to a Dominican convent dating back to the 7th century. Travel to San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Arrival to the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight.
Breakfast and departure towards the indigenous communities of Tzotzil ethnic group, stopping enroute to visit Chamula and get an insight of the fusion between contemporary habits and Mayan ancestral features which is so typical of this place. Continue to Zinacantán, where you'll visit the church and a family cooperative.
Here you will be welcomed with a local drink, offered by your hosts. You'll observe women still working with a pre-Columbian loom. After watching indigenous women at work, you will be welcomed in their kitchens where, with a bit of luck, you'll be invited to try handmade tortillas. At the end of the visit, transfer back to San Cristóbal de Las Casas to enjoy a nice city tour. The rest of the day is free. Overnight.
After breakfast travel to Palenque, stopping enroute at Agua Azul, a group of waterfalls formed by the streaming of Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers. They have created little canyons with vertical cliffs: here you can swim and explore the area.
Later on continue to Misol-Ha waterfalls: 30 m high and sorrounded by tropical forest, they offer a beautiful and relaxing environment. Transfer to your hotel in Palenque. Check in and overnight.
After breakfast, visit to the archaeological site of Palenque. This Mayan city is known for its architectural and sculptural heritage; where we can admire several buildings: The Palace, The Temple of the Foliated Cross, Temple of the Sun and others. At the end of the visit we will depart in the direction of Campeche, a beautiful walled city, which once served to defend against pirate attacks. A city rich in traditions, folklore and customs, besides exquisite cuisine. Check into the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight.
After breakfast, there will be a tour through the city of Campeche. Following your tour, you will visit the archaeological site of Uxmal, also a Unesco Cultural Heritage, which is located in the Puuc area, and it’s the most representative city of this architectural style. You will be ready to continue your trip in the direction of Mérida, check-in to the hotel and free afternoon to explore the “white city”. Overnight.
Breakfast and drive to one of the main archeological sites of the Yucatan Peninsula: Chichen Itza. Visit and admire its beautiful buildings: the Pyramid of Kukulkan, the Observatory, the Temple of the Warriors and the field for the Pelota game; all these are very important archeological ruins of the Maya civilization. Transfer to the hotel in Cancun. Check in and overnight.
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy Cancún stunning beaches. Overnight.
Pick up at the hotel lobby and transfer to Cancún airport. End of service.
