This tour is dedicated to the observation of migrations and water birds of Eastern Bulgaria. Situated along the ancient Via Pontica, these places have international relevance due to their many migratory birds.

In addition to the pleasure of watching the flow of numerous storks, pelicans and a great variety of birds of prey (Honey Buzzards, Black Kites, Eagles with short fingers, hawks etc.) this birdwatching holiday and vacation will be a trip in the wilderness and in the coastal wetlands of the northern Black Sea coast and along the Danube (curlew, ferruginous duc , shelduck, Gull, Calandra, Pied etc ).

    Arrive in Burgas. Transfer to the hotel.

    Day 2

    The day is spend observing the migration of birds following the migratory route "Via Pontica" from several observation points near the town of Burgas (Atanasovsk lake and Poda lagoon).

    With the exception of migratory birds (thousands of white storks and Honey Buzzards, numerous Montagu Harriers and also Levant sparrow hawks, short-toed eagles, blacks kites, cuckoos , etc.), these are stops for many species of water birds (white and Dalmatian pelicans, Spoonbills, Pygmy Cormorants, egrets, Phalaropes Red-necked and even Curlews). Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

    Burgas - Balchik
    Day 3

    In the morning you'll head towards the Black Sea coast, where you'll meet big huge flocks of storks, pelicans and raptors. With short stops at Pomoriisko lake and Goritsa forest (Tenuirostris and Mediterranean Gulls, many species of wading birds, bee-eaters, Syrians, small and medium stained spotted woodpeckers, flycatchers) you'll reach Kaliakra and Boliata Bay, situated among the most precious environments of the Bulgarian steppe (Stone - curlew, Alpine swifts, Calandra larks, shrikes etc.). Overnight in Balchik. Dinner and overnight.

    Balchik - Kamen Briag - Yailite - Balchik
    Day 4

    After breakfast you'll head towards the humid areas of Shabla (Pygmy cormorant, ferruginous duck, shelduck, Calandra, Knight of Italy, Sandpiper, Bee-eater, Roller, Hoopoe etc.) and then Dourankoulak lake (Red-necked Grebe, Little Bittern, Purple Heron, Glossy Ibis, Great White Heron, ducks, Glareola pratincola, Stone - curlew, Black Tern, Warbler, Calandra, etc.). In the afternoon return to Balchik town, witha a brief stop near Kamen Briag village amidst the ancient tombs of Yailite archaeological reserve (tenuirostris gulls, Calandra and Short -toed Lark). Dinner and overnight.

    Balchik - Lake Srebarna - Balchik
    Day 5

    After a short journey through the fields of Dobroudzha plain, you'll reach Lake Srebarna around midday. The humid area is the earthly paradise for birds, being also the most important reserve in Bulgaria. Situated along Danube river it has international relevance due to the reproduction of many species. Here possible sightings include Red-necked Grebes, Dalmatian pelicans, pygmy cormorants, bitterns, heron, purple heron, small and large herons, glossy ibis, spoonbills, ferruginous ducks, dun, Whiskered Terns and many more. In the late afternoon you'll return to Balchik. Dinner and overnight.

    Balchik - Cape Emine - Burgas
    Day 6

    In the morning you'll start your journey back to the southern coast of the Black Sea, visiting Cape Emine (Olive Warbler, Roller, Mediterranean, tenuirostris and small gulls, etc.). Thanks to its position, this place is perfect to watch the migration of birds such as storks and raptors and it's also famous for its hybrids, the black -eared wheatear. In the afternoon  you'll reach the town of Burgas, where you spend some more time watching the migration (white and Dalmatian pelicans and Dalmatian, the Little Spotted Marsh Eagle and Montagu's Harrier etc).

    Day 7

    Birdwatching starts above Burgos town. The migration flow depends much on weather conditions. The day will be dedicated to the migration from Via Pontica (black and white storks, honey buzzards, numerous Montagu and even Levante hawks, eagles, blacks kites , cuckoos etc). Dinner and overnight.
