- Tour
Discover the real essence of Navajos, the inhabitants of Monument Valley, a gorgeous natural framework in the USA. Red and dry lands studded by huge sandstone formations, characteristic trees, but especially hogans, real dwellings, in which Navajos never stop to tell stories, share with visitors their lores, traditions and culture and delight tourists with their typical shows. This short tour will take you to the heart of this stunning region between Utah and Arizona and will offer you the chance to enjoy two amazing safaris: one during the sunset and the other one at sunrise, tasting local dishes and spending the night in famous hogans.
Today you'll arrival in Monument Valley to discover this amazing land and experience a night out in a traditional hogan. A Navajo hogan is a typical local home, here the inhabitants usually tell stories about how the First Man and the First Woman built the original tent. A hogan represents both the universe and the harmony that can be found in nature. This dwelling is built with natural materials, as desert juniper trees and ponderosa, juniper barks (for insulation), and dirt (red desert earth) plastered over the dome-shape structure. At sunset you'll go on with a 2.5 hours jeep safari among the red large sandstone formations. Tonight you'll enjoy a Navajo Taco dinner and a local show, in which Navajo sing and dance around a camp fire. Then, local people will share their stories with you, and tell you about their history, traditions and culture.
In the early morning you'll get up to enjoy a breath-taking sunrise jeep tour and your Continental European style breakfast: end of services.
