A short itinerary to show you the best of Yucatan peninsula, in Mexico, and its wonderful archaeological sites, proofs of the ancient Maya, one of the most important civilization of Central America. Departing from Cancun on board of a comfortable air conditioned van, you'll reach Merida to discover:

  • Ek Balam, a small but precious archaeological site, whose name means "black jaguar" in the Mayan language;
  • The famous Chichen Itza, which includes several relevant and representative buildings designed according to different architectural philosophies. The most important are El Castillo, the Observatory, and the Temple of the Warriors.
  • The well-preserved archaeological site of Uxmal, whose name means "three times built". The Pyramid of the Magician is undoubtedly the most important element;
  • The "white city", the rich city centre of Merida, full of amazing colonial buildings;
  • Valladolid with its majestic and beautiful Cathedral.

    Cancun - Merida
    Day 1

    Departure in the morning from Cancun to Merida. En route we'll stop to discover the most important archaeological sites that link these cities. First of all, we'll visit the small Ek Balam. Although it is not very renowned, it is for sure very interesting. Then, we'll proceed toward Chichen Itza, the Mayan capital in Yucatan Peninsula. Here it is possible to admire worldwide famous ruins, such as El Castillo.

    Lunch in a restaurant. In the late afternoon arrival in Merida, check-in to the hotel and overnight.

    Day 2

    The morning is dedicated to the visit of Uxmal, an important evidence of the Mayan civilization. After lunch in a local restaurant, we'll return to Merida. Time at leisure for shopping or autonomous visits. Overnight in the hotel.

    Day 3

    In the morning we will visit the "white city", whose nickname must be connected to its colonial buildings. Stop at the Zocalo to visit the Cathedral, the Palace of Government, The City Hall, and the house of Francisco de Montejo. Afterwards, we will reach Valladolid, a charming colonial city boasting an important Cathedral.

    Lunch in a local restaurant and departure for Cancun.
