The region is full of traditional architecture and folklore: during your trip you'll visit remote villages and churches, as well as one of the most beautiful Bulgarian monasteries, Bachkovo.

According to the mythology, this is the land of Dionysus, the god of wine. This is the area where the famous native Mavrud is produced. The strong red Mavrud wine can be tasted in famous Villa Vinifera winery, included in your itinerary.

    Sofia / Plovdiv
    Day 1

    Arrive at the airport of Sofia or Plovdiv. Transfer to Plovdiv, the second largest city of the country, overnight in a hotel.

    Plovdiv - Brestovitsa - Plovdiv
    Day 2

    Short transfer to Brestovitsa where you'll meet the horses. The day is dedicated to a circular ride, passing Perushtitsa town and then back to Brestovitsa, visiting a local winery where you'll have lunch and taste local wines. In the afternoon you'll return to Plovdiv for a short walk in the old district of the city. Dinner and overnight, Horseriding: 2 hours.

    Plovdiv - Brestovitsa - Varhovrah
    Day 3

    Leave Plovdiv for Brestovitsa and then continue south this time. Climb to the mountain to reach Varhovrah. Overnight. Horseriding:4-5 hours.

    Varhovrah - Capanna Persenk
    Day 4

    Continue the ride passing several small villages, following Varhovah ridge with a panoramic view, finally reaching Persenk hut, arrival and overnight. Horseriding: 5 hours.

    Persenk- Bachkovo- Orehovo
    Day 5

    This horseriding day will take you to Chudnite Mostove, a unique rock formation in the heart of the mountain. After lunch visit Bachkovo monastery by bus. The horses will wait at Orehovo village. Overnight. Horseriding: 4 hours.

    Orehovo - Chernatitsa - Studenets
    Day 6

    Today you'll head to Chernatitsa ridge, crossing deep forests and large grasslands, along Biala Cherkva till reaching Studenets. Overnight. Horseriding: 5-6 hours.

    Studenets - Leshten - Plovdiv
    Day 7

    On the last riding day you'll reach Leshten fields where you'll say goodbye to the horses. Transfer to Plovdiv for a goodbye dinner. Overnight. Horseriding: 4 hours.
