England and Scotland tour and tailormade holiday

Arrival at one of London’s international airports and transfer to the hotel.  Sightseeing tour of the city, stopping to admire the most important buildings and squares, Big Ben and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

Guided tour of London and its iconic sights, going into the Tower of London and the majestic Westminster Abbey, where the Kings and Queens of England are crowned.  In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Thames. Dinner and accommodation.

We set out for Cambridge, where we will take a walking tour to admire its medieval streets and colleges.  After lunch, we continue to the city of York. You will be impressed by York Minster, its magnificent Cathedral.  In the afternoon our journey continues to Wetherby, where we will stay overnight.

We cross the county of Yorkshire to Durham, for a quick visit to this historic city. Our journey continues into magical Scotland.  We are greeted by the mysterious ruins of the Benedictine Abbey of Jedburgh and the home of Mary Queen of Scots. On to Edinburgh, where we will take a first sightseeing tour before arriving at the hotel. In the evening, optional dinner with a Scottish folk show.

Breakfast in the hotel and a free morning for exploring Edinburgh or visiting its famous castle.  In the afternoon we will visit the Trossachs National Park, and before continuing on to Glasgow, we will stop at a traditional whisky distillery.

Early in the morning we set off for the beautiful Lake District, the place which inspired so many English poets and writers.  Lunch on the shore of Lake Windermere and then on to Liverpool, the city of the Beatles. 

Today we will visit Coventry, with its splendid cathedral built after the destruction of the German bombing in the Second World War.  We go on to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and then continue to the university town of Oxford. After the visit, on to London and the hotel.

Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the airport.
