No trip to the Territory is complete without a visit to the Daly Waters Pub, an important watering hole for explorers and drovers in days gone by and now a great spot for a cold beer, a bit of history and a "fair dinkum outback experience". Our day winds to a close at historic Banka Banka Cattle Station where we camp for the night.

    Day 10

Your Red Centre adventure begins with a stop at the Outback Camel Farm at Stuarts Well where you can ride a camel (own expense). After turning off the Stuart Highway a stop is made at Mount Ebenezer, which is a good place to see and buy Aboriginal art and craft. As we continue our journey, don’t be tricked, the first monolith you will see is Mount Conner (Atila) – not to be confused with Uluru which is still some 100km away. After lunch and your arrival at Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park, stop by the Cultural Centre to expand your knowledge on the history of the area and its people. Your guide will then take you on an interpretive walk around the base of "the Rock". Those choosing to climb will have the opportunity to do so, weather permitting. (Note: Uluru is a sacred site and Anangu, the indigenous custodians, respectfully ask visitors not to climb it). You may also opt to take a longer self-guided walk around Uluru to continue your exploration. It’s then time to watch the ever-changing colours of Uluru at sunset. After dinner, some campfire stories and star gazing, the choice is yours to sleep in swags or tents at your private campsite.

    Day 25

Today you will be treated to two unique experiences. You will have the opportunity to hand-feed wild Pacific dolphins as they come into Tin Can Bay every morning. This national park run activity is included in the price of your tour. Then you will be able to design and paint your own boomerang, a traditional Aboriginal hunting implement. Yarra (Bunjalung tribe) and local artist Ze will help you using Aboriginal symbols, animals and activities to create a personal memento of your Australian adventure. Rainbow Beach gets its name from an Aboriginal legend that tells of Yiningie – the spirit of the Gods represented by a rainbow – who was killed in a fight over a woman. When he crashed into the cliffs his spirits created the coloured sands that are visible today. Yarra's Bush Tucker Lunch is an opportunity to experience the true taste of Australia. Yarra is an aboriginal elder of the Bunjalung Tribe who enjoys cooking traditional foods with a modern presentation. Taste kangaroo (or tempeh for vegetarians) prepared in exotic bush tucker spices served with a choice of delicious fresh salads including locally grown greens topped with zesty lemon myrtle dressing. Lunch is served in a relaxed outdoor setting surrounded by the bush tucker garden (weather permitting). You may taste, when in season, the bush foods growing there and learn about local bush foods and medicines. It’s then onto Brisbane, the Queensland capital, to drop off passengers participating in only the Queensland portion of the tour. From there we finish the day in the Queensland holiday capital, Surfers Paradise with a group dinner by the beach.
