Queretaro

The colonial name was Santiago de Querétaro, but after the Mexican Independence in 1821, this city was called Querétaro. In 1996 it entered to become part of the heritage of humanity.

A curious and alternative way to explore the city is to get on the tram that allow the visiting of the most important tourist attractions such as the stone temples, neoclassical buildings of the colonial buildings of the nineteenth century and a vast heritage of pre-Hispanic age. The city center with its palaces, craft markets and local food is very traditional.
